Week 1: Introduction to Financial Valuation Principles
Content: Overview of the fundamental concepts of financial valuation, including the purpose of valuation, types of valuation methods, and key financial metrics.
Week 2: Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Analysis
Content: In-depth look at the DCF method, covering the calculation of free cash flows, discount rates, and terminal value. Understanding the time value of money in financial valuation.
Week 3: Relative Valuation and Comparable Companies Analysis
Content: Introduction to relative valuation techniques using price multiples and comparable companies. Discussion on when and how to use comparables in valuation.
Week 4: Asset-Based Valuation and Liquidation Value
Content: Explanation of asset-based valuation approaches, including book value and liquidation value, and their use in assessing a company's net worth from an asset perspective.
Week 5: Valuation of Intangibles and Final Review
Content: Exploring methods for valuing intangible assets, such as brand value, patents, and goodwill. A comprehensive review of the valuation techniques covered throughout the course.
